The Universal Thread is bound on the Eastern time zone. That's the default for the messages area. Members of the Premier Universal Thread Membership can adjust the time zone to fit their local settings. You may have to adjust it once every six months to adjust with the Daylight Savings Time. Thus, with one small setting every six months, you can have the time display of all the messages area to match your local settings.

In all content outside of the messages area, the time display is in Eastern format. That time display format is fixed.

Daylight savings goes from first Sunday in April to last Sunday in October.

Standard Time from last Sunday in October to first Sunday in April
  • UTC (GMT) 2000 8 PM
  • Eastern Standard Time 3 PM
  • Central Standard time 2 PM
  • Rocky Mountain Standard time 1 PM
  • Pacific Standard time 12:00 Noon
Daylight Savings Time from first Sunday in April to last Sunday in October
  • UTC (GMT) 1900 7 PM
  • Eastern Daylight Time 3 PM
  • Central Daylight time 2 PM
  • Rocky Mountain Daylight time 1 PM
  • Pacific Daylight time 12:00 Noon
If you are somewhere like Australia, you need to go by the GMT (UTC) and subtract or add to your local time. Because Australia, for example, is down under daylight savings in Oz is almost the exact opposite of US, it is also different in other countries such as Hungary. For example if you were in Sydney you would take GMT of 20:00 if between last Sunday in October. 20:00 + 10 = 30:00 - 24 = 06:00 then you would add 1 06:00 + 1 = 07:00 because Sydney would be an Daylight time, although I think they call it BST there. You add the 10 to get to there time it goes over one day so you take away the 24 to get 6 AM, but remember it is a day ahead - if you were figuring for Friday 20:00 GMT it would be Saturday at 6 AM in Sydney - think about it - you would add the 1 to account for savings time making the conferences on Saturday at 7 AM from the last Sunday in October to first Sunday in April. On the other hand if it is between first Sunday in April and last Sunday in October they take place at 19:00 GMT = 19:00 + 10 = 29:00 -24 = 5:00 AM Saturday.

There are a number of places you can go to check to see what time it is where you are and move from UTC or GMT:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/ gives you time zone for various cities plus a time zone map and links to other places. This also has times listed by cities based on UTC(GMT) however remember to subtract an hour for daylight savings time if it is between first Sunday in April and last Sunday in October.

http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/what.html is the US Navy Time Clock and will tell you what time it is where in addition to other information
