Photo albums from conferences [May 30, 2010 22:36]
Instead of showing randomly selected photos from the photo archive, the main page now displays the most three recent events we have photo albums for. Thus, a few days following an event, we usually have a photo album related to it. Clicking on any picture will then bring the conference page. This is shown in the bottom part of the home page.

Subscription status in support area [May 30, 2010 15:29]
There is now a subscription status area in the dahsboard of the support area which provides the current status of your subscription.

Standardization in dashboard [May 16, 2010 16:33]
The option to show a favorite link from the dashboard section into the upper toolbar is no longer supported. This was creating duplicate content in the interface and with the adjustment that the dashboard is now visible to all, this is no longer needed.

Dashboard for all [May 16, 2010 16:12]
Due to the very low amount of users using the dashboard, combined with the confusion of the non display of the very useful time wrap option in such situation, with the need to benefit more from the dashboard with upcoming options, with the need to standardize more in the way the interface works as well as making it simpler to adjust and understand the account setup profile, the dashboard has been made visible to all.

YouTube embed [April 18, 2010 19:11]
The Universal Thread now embeds YouTube references into a message. To see it, try this message #1460829. It gets more interesting when you play them all at the same time. Basically, it allows to view the video without leaving the site. It also offers a better overview of what the video is also when there are multiple of them.

Syntax coloring added to SQL Server forum [April 13, 2010 20:55]
There is now a support for syntax coloring in the SQL Server forum. However, this is only the first version. So, there are still a lot of words I need to add in the dictionary. A more complete dictionary soon will be available soon.

News Alert available to all members [April 12, 2010 18:42]
Now, available to all members, the News Alert allows to receive notifications of new content posted in the News, FAQ, Downloads, Articles, Jobs, Links and Level Extreme .NET Framework sections. If not already a subscriber of those services, you can update your account in the Settings section by checking the related options.

Previous issues of downloadable version of magazine available [April 6, 2010 00:41]
We have added back the previous issues of downloadable version of the Universal Thread Magazine. In the Universal Thread Magazine, in the bottom part, you can then find a section to download Spanish issues as well as another one to download Portuguese issues.

Level Extreme .NET Framework as part of News Alert [April 4, 2010 18:17]
The Level Extreme .NET Framework, as part of the Class & methods section of the site, is now part of the News Alert. Thus, in your account, you can adjust to enable that option so you would receive a notification by email of new classes and methods added in the archive.

Universal Thread Widget available [March 29, 2010 19:30]
The Universal Thread Widget is now available. You can install it on your Web site in similar ways such as Facebook, Amazon and other well known Web sites. The widget is customizable from your account setup which now contains a new section. Customization includes selection of the content, quantity, width, height, colors and other related settings in order to fully integrate it into your site look and feel.

Hardware forum created [March 26, 2010 12:59]
A Hardware forum has been created. The forum covers topics such as Computer cards, Devices, Disk drives, Laptops, Memory, Motherboards, Bios & CPU, Networking, Printers, Security as well as a general category in regards to related topics.

Syntax coloring added to .NET forum [March 23, 2010 22:34]
In the support area, the syntax coloring has been added to the .NET forum.

Test audio notifications [March 23, 2010 16:10]
When using the support area, if your audio notification is active, which is the default, there would be audio notifications for new replies, private messages and agent messages. You can now test those audio notifications from the account page in the Audio notification section.

Support added for sound notifications in support area [March 22, 2010 23:38]
A support has been added for sound notifications in support area for users of Firefox. Notifications of new replies, agent messages and private messages should now work if the sound notification has been turned ON.

More for subscribers [March 15, 2010 20:33]
A new option exposes classes and methods of the Level Extreme .NET Framework. On a regular basis, there will be more classes and methods in that content. The framework has over 1000 of them and they practically serve for today's most of the industry's needs. The framework is already used in several locations in North America. This service is offered at no extra charge to the site subscribers. If you are a subscriber, you can get it as part of your subscription.

Universal Thread Books section direct link to Amazon [March 1, 2010 18:01]
In order to keep up to date with the Books section and offers more to our users, we have decided to adjust the Books section to directly link into the Amazon related book categories.

Auto opt-in on new forum [February 24, 2010 16:58]
We have adjusted the way we implement a new forum in the support area. From now on, every new forum will be opted-in by default to all members. Previously, this was on request only. So, too many members were missing the recently added forums. In order to increase the visibility of the related forums, this adjustement was needed. Members can still adjust the list of forums for participation at any time by going into their account.

Facebook forum added [February 24, 2010 16:57]
The Facebook forum has been added on the Universal Thread. The popularity of Facebook and its developer's platform is reaching more and more developers. More categories will be added layout to better representation the need of the related support.

Improve of speed in refresh interval [February 24, 2010 16:39]
We have made some adjustment to improve the speed of the refresh interval in the support area. This is noticeable when entering in the support area and whenever the refresh kicks in.

Overall site design [February 24, 2010 16:15]
We have adjusted the main overall site design to provide a better harmonized theme. The new design also offers a more professional look by providing a better set of content.

Enhancements in the Coverages section [February 24, 2010 16:09]
We have made several enhancements in the Coverages section. This relates to conference reporting we have done. The page displays 12 randomly selected photos as well as the videos linked the report. A link to the entire photo archive is also available as well as the main site sub menu Photos link which contains all the site albums.

Photos on the main page [February 24, 2010 16:07]
We have added a photo section on the main page which displays randomly selected photos every minute. We have a database of nearly 10,000 photos. Those are mostly from conferences since the last 15 years where the Universal Thread and its members were involved. This provides an interactive view of a better visibility of the new Photos and Videos options we have added on the site sub menu.

Facebook Share on various content [February 24, 2010 15:58]
The Universal Thread has added a Facebook Share on various content on the site. For now, this applies to a photo album, a video and a conference report. More content will benefit from that option shortly. Members can then share those content on Facebook whenever they feel like it.

Facebook Share on the main page [February 24, 2010 15:53]
The main page includes a Facebook Share option on the lower right. This allows Universal Thread members to occasionnally use this option to let their Facebook friends know about this site. We invite you to help us and use this option whenever you feel like it.

Facebook Fan page [February 24, 2010 15:52]
The Universal Thread has created a Facebook Fan page. This appears on the site right margin. If you are not a fan, we invite you to click on "Become a fan" from that section. This addition focuses on offering a point of presence of the Universal Thread on Facebook targeting at providing additional promotion to the product, allowing Facebook members to interact between them as well as allowing them to invite some of their friends to the Fan page and let them know about the Universal Thread.

News feed [February 24, 2010 15:49]
The site right margin includes a section known as News feed. This is refreshed every 15 minutes and lists the top 25 recent entries which were added in our content publishing section. This includes content such as News, Downloads and Jobs. This provides a quick look at what's new on the site, as far as content publishing goes, and accessible from anywhere on the site.

Video of the day [February 24, 2010 15:47]
The site right margin now includes a Video of the day section. This shows four randomly selected videos on a daily basis. For now, all videos in our archive are related to conferences where we were involved in doing the reporting.

Facebook member's profile available [February 24, 2010 15:44]
In "Account\Subscription\Update your account", there is a section at the bottom which now allows to enter the Facebook profile ID. So, when this is entered, a Facebook icon will be shown in your profile whenever someone reads a message you are involved in. To obtain your profile ID, simply access your profile on Facebook and get the ID from the URL. This is an option for subscribers only. Subscribers can also turn off this option if they do not wish to see it when reading messages.
